In addition to his experience in practice,
he was an External Tutor of National University
of Singapore, School of Architecture from
1973 to 1980; an External Examiner of National
University of Singapore, School of Architecture
from 1976 to 1980; an Adjunct Professor
of National University of Singapore, School
of Architecture from 1997 to 1999.
Mr. Tan is a Registered Architect with the
Board of Architects in Singapore. He is
a Fellow Member of the Singapore Institute
of Architects and a Corporate Member of
the Singapore Institute of Planners. He
is also an advisor to the Planning Committee,
City of Shenzhen since 1986.
He plays golf, has strong interests in sports
and travels widely. His other interests
include table tennis and dancing.
